What time can my Private Event start?
Generally private events begin after the Zoo closes and the public guests have had a chance to exit, approximately 4:30 pm.
Can I have it catered?
Yes, the Reid Park Zoo is proud to partner with Taste On the Wildside catering to bring you many wonderful menus for your event.
Do I have to use the Zoo’s catering department?
You are not required to use Taste of the Wild catering except for the service of alcoholic beverages. A list of preferred catering vendors can be provided upon request.
Can I have a band or entertainment?
Bands and entertainment are allowed to perform at private event with approval. Bands and entertainment must complete a walk through of the facilities with a Events Department staff person, and sign a rules and procedure agreement prior to event date.
Is alcohol permitted during a private event?
Alcohol can be provided during after hours private rentals only. Service must be provided by Taste of the Wild catering service. An alcohol policy and price list can be provided upon request.
Can we feed the animals?
The Zoo’s educational & keeper staffs are happy to offer the opportunity to feed our giraffes with prior arrangements made. Please speak to an Events Department representative for details.
