Best Time to Visit
Animals tend to be most active and visitor attendance tends to be lowest early in the morning and just prior to closing. Looking for solitude? Try visiting during the fall. School crowds are nominal and the weather is fabulous! School group visits are popular each morning March through May. This is a great time to visit if you enjoy the hustle and bustle of youngsters exploring their Zoo.
Visit Length
We suggest you allow yourself two hours to see most of the Zoo. Even better, plan to visit often, and really explore one part of the Zoo on each visit.
Amenities
Maps and self-guided
tour brochures are available at the entrance in English and Spanish.
A variety of snacks, drinks, and lunch options are available at The
Zoofari Café. The Jungle Market offers a wide range of souvenirs,
books, toys, and clothing. Food service and gift shopping are available
during regular business hours.

Other Tips for a Great Visit
Remember
that all of the Zoo's animals are wild. Please don't feed any of
the animals or chase any of the naturally roaming animals such as
peacocks, geese, squirrels, and other creatures you'll see at the
zoo.
Learn
more about fun, educational progams for non-school
groups, and school field
trip opportunities.
Keep
an eye out for docents, who are dressed in tan pants and white or
red shirts. They often have "touch stations" and other things to
look at and are always happy to share interesting information about
the animals. Consider becoming a volunteer and share your own interest
with others!
Bring
binoculars so you can see animals REALLY close up.
For
the safety of animals and guests, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades,
and skates are not allowed inside the zoo. Outside food, straws,
drink cup lids, glass, balloons and cans are also restricted.
