Behind the Scenes Tours for ages 5 and up
Behind-the-Scenes-Tour

Journey behind the scenes at Reid Park Zoo and discover the rewards
and challenges of caring for over 500 exotic animals every day!
Visits to the Zoo’s kitchen, health center, and an animal
night house will give you a whole new perspective on what it takes
to keep the Zoo’s animal residents healthy and active on
exhibit. After the tour, you’re welcome to explore the Zoo
on your own for as long as you wish.

So you want to be a Zoo Keeper? Find out if you've got what it
takes! Try your hand at a Zoo Keeper's unique chores in one busy
morning as we prepare animal meals and treats, diagnose an animal
malady and even clean a night house. Leave your best clothes at
home and come prepared to get down and dirty at the Zoo.

A KIDS ONLY action-packed evening of flashlight tours, craft projects,
and up-close animal encounters. In the morning, we’ll serve
breakfast and go exploring behind-the-scenes. Kids Only! Sleepover

Camp

Discover the connections between all living things at ZooBot camp!
Our five-day adventure offers an in-depth exploration of animals
and plants that revolves around FUN. Kids will spend mornings
at the Zoo immersed in behind-the-scenes adventures, art projects,
science experiments and more. Then they’ll head to the Tucson
Botanical Gardens for afternoons of botanical discovery. Transportation
between locations will be provided by Reid Park Zoo. Children
should be dropped off at the Zoo, and picked up at the Tucson
Botanical Gardens. Snacks will be provided, but kids should bring
a sack lunch each day.
Registration for ZooBot camp will begin on Monday, March
3 on the Tucson Botanical Gardens website: www.tucsonbotanical.org.

Get in on the fun of a full day camp right here at the Zoo. The
question isn’t “what will we do?” it’s
“what WON’T we do?” Games and picnics in Reid
Park, skits, art projects, up-close animal visits and other behind-the-scenes
activities are just some of the adventures that await. We’ll
also plan on some refreshing swims at the nearby Adaptive Recreation
Center. Hands-on activities will illustrate concepts like animal
health and nutrition, behavior training, enrichment, conservation,
and more; ensuring that the experience is educational, fun, and
totally unforgettable. Children should be dropped off and picked
up at the Zoo’s front gate. Participants should bring a
sack lunch each day.
Registration for this popular camp will begin ONLINE 8:00 am on
Saturday March, 1. Registrations will not be taken over the phone.
