Welcome, sarus cranes

The Zoo welcomes its newest residents, a pair of sarus cranes! Native to India, the sarus crane is the world’s tallest flying bird. The Zoo’s cranes made their exhibit debut last week, and their unique trumpeting call can now be heard throughout the Zoo.

We are open New Years Eve and New Years Day!

There’s no better way to celebrate the New Year than a visit to Reid Park Zoo with the family! We’ll be open during our regular hours (9am to 4pm) on New Years Eve and New Years day, so come say “Hi!” to your favorite animals and wish them a Happy New Year.

Zoo Lights is back on for Friday, Dec. 17, 2010

Now that the rain has stopped, Zoo Lights will be in full swing tonight, 12/17/10.  We hope you’ll come enjoy the lights, entertainment, refreshments, and a visit with Santa!
