Baby tamandua born 8-10-11
A tiny tamandua (pronounced tuh-MAN-deh-wah), or lesser anteater, was born at the Zoo on August 10th, 2011. Mom and baby are doing fine. Tamanduas are part of our education program–although they are not on exhibit, you might see one of our our adult tamanduas onstage during a weekend presentation.

New demonstration animals!
The Zoo is pleased to introduce Wetzel, a six-banded armadillo; and Jasper, a marbled polecat. Wetzel and Jasper made their debut to delighted Zoo visitors for the very first time this morning! They will be on exhibit many mornings as staff or volunteers are available. Check the event board at the front gate when you arrive for these and other great opportunities happening daily at the Zoo!
