Early Summer Hours for Members Only
On EVERY Saturday and Sunday through September, members are invited to enjoy the Zoo during cooler morning hours as Zoo Keepers are preparing for the day. Although the Zoo is not open until 9 a.m., members may catch a glimpse of keepers preparing exhibits, working with animals, cleaning, or feeding. If you are not a member yet, you can arrange for all of the benefits of membership during these special hours, or purchase a membership online.
Expedition Tanzania
The Zoo is currently in the planning stages for a new African Exhibit, titled Expedition Tanzania, which will be the largest expansion in the Zoo’s history. The Zoo’s elephants will soon be exploring a three acre habitat with pools and streams to swim and wade in, mud wallows, sandy hills, and logs to play with. [...]
Conservation Learning Center Open
The Lee H. Brown Family Conservation Learning Center opened at Reid Park Zoo in February of 2008. Zoo staff made a commitment at the outset of this project to build an earth-friendly education center that was consistent with the Zoo’s mission of conservation.
